MILD AND UNSETTLED THROUGH SUNDAY

Clouds are increasing across the region with the approach of a strengthening cold front out to our west.  The clouds stick around through the night, helping to keep temperatures mild alongside a southeasterly flow.  Dewpoints will be on the rise too, and as temperatures drop, some foggy and drizzly spots are likely near daybreak.  The winds are fairly breezy also, and pick up close to morning.  Lows fall into the upper 40s to lower 50s.  Sunday stays mainly cloudy with the approach of the cold front.  A strong southerly flow keeps temperatures on the mild side and winds very breezy.  There is the chance for some showers, especially later in the day.  Highs reach the upper 50s to lower 60s across the region.  We’ll be keeping an eye on what the cold front brings to our friends along the Ohio Valley Sunday.  A massive severe weather outbreak is possible, and some of the weakening storms could affect the western half of our region overnight Sunday.  The threat appears minor at this time, especially because any organized activity that makes it close to our area will be weakening along the way.  However, some gusty storms are possible.  Wind damage is the main threat with any storms that manage to maintain their intensity.  The Storm Prediction Center has the western parts of the area outlooked for this reason.  We will monitor the situation as it continues to develop.

COOLING BACK DOWN

The cold front clears the area Monday morning, so a few showers could linger into that time frame.  The afternoon brings drying and even some clearing.  It’s another mild and breezy day, with highs in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees.  Tuesday, a cold air mass behind the cold front slides in, and temperatures only make it into the 40s.  A mixture of clouds and sunshine is expected.  It stays chilly Wednesday, with temperatures in the middle 40s and plenty of sunshine to go along with it.  Expect chilly mornings too, with lows in the 20s Wednesday and Thursday morning.

MORE SHOWER CHANCE

Our next storm system increase clouds Thursday, and it brings the chance for a late day shower.  Temperatures continue to moderate, with highs near 50 degrees.  Friday and Saturday expect the chance for showers, with the better chance on Saturday.  Highs reach the lower to middle 50s.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
