About 50 firefighters battle a fire at a York County home Monday afternoon. The fire was reported at about 4:26 pm at a home in the 600 block of Old York Road in Fairview Township.  The first fire crews to arrive on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames.

The fire appears to have started in a addition to the home. The owner was not at home when the fire began. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control. There is no estimate of damage. A state police fire marshal is investigating.
