Police looking for 84-year-old Southampton man with Alzheimer’s

State police need help locating a 84-year-old Southampton Township man who was last seen driving away from his home near Michael Court around 1:40 p.m. Monday.

Troopers say Leon W. Young has Alzheimer’s and is believed to be in a confused state of mind. He has a pacemaker and hearing aid.

According to police reports,  Young is known to frequent Wal-Mart, Lowes, the Select Diner, Weis Markets, Burger King and the Wendy’s in the Shippensburg area. He previously worked in Carlisle and Newville and it is possible he could be in either area, investigators said. He also has family in Union County.

Young is described as a white male, 5’10”, 250 pounds with thinning white/gray hair. He has brown eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a dark blue button up long sleeve shirt, dark blue trousers, white sneakers and a light blue jacket. He wears a silver watch and a gold wedding band.  State police say Young drives a white 2000 Buick Century with Pennsylvania plates of JCX2716.
