Police say speed and alcohol are to blame for a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a man in York Township on Monday evening.

According to police reports,  Jamey Ray Hartless, 48, of Glen Rock, was behind the wheel when he hit a car along the 2500 block of South George Street around 6:11 p.m. Witnesses told investigators that after hitting the car, Jamey sped away from the scene.

Minutes later, officers were called to the 200 block of Reynolds Mill Road for a crash with entrapment.  Jamey’s car went off the road and hit a tree and stop sign, police said.

His brother, Timothy A. Hartless, 51, of Glen Rock, was killed in the crash.

So his brother would probably still be alive if he hadn't fled. Worst karma ever. Although this is a sobering event in his life, one has to wonder if it will sober him up. Either way, he has to live with it now.
