A man who was killed Monday morning after a multi-vehicle crash involving two mules in Lancaster County has been identified.
Melvin Ault, 19, of East Petersburg, died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s office.
Police say Ault was heading to meet a family member to go deer hunting when his vehicle collided with two mules who escaped from their pasture along Route 272 in Pequea Township.
His vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and then collided with two other vehicles. One mule was killed by the crash, while the other had to be euthanized. Witnesses reported seeing four mules in all, but the other two were not immediately located.
