The York Central Market names Cindy Steele its new chief operating officer. Steele joins the Central Market from the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center where she has served as director of operations for more than five years. Steele will begin her tenure as COO immediately as she also wraps up her duties at the Strand-Capitol.
Joel Snyder, president of the Central Market board, said, “We are excited to welcome Cindy to her new role. The board was gratified to meet so many well-qualified candidates throughout the COO search and we are delighted with the final decision. Cindy’s many connections will be extremely positive for Central Market as we move forward.”
The recently completed $2 million Central Market renovation included extensive updates to the 125-year-old building’s systems and utilities, including installation of new bathrooms, all new lighting and heating, new 16-feet ceiling fans, extensive repainting and cleaning, and upgrades and expansions to the annex and all seating areas. With the project complete, Central Market is accommodating more vendors, hosting more event rentals, and offering expanded seating for customers in the now comfortable and picturesque historic building.
