A Harrisburg man already in Dauphin County Prison on charges related to a Nov. 12 high-speed police chase is heading to court in connection with a check cashing scheme in Middletown.
Michael A. Evans-Turner, 30, is accused of fleeing from officers in mid-November when they attempted to arrest him for his part in an illegal check cashing scheme.
Police say Evans-Turner and Gina D. Holmes, 22, of Harrisburg, worked together to steal nearly $4,00o from one of Holmes’ home health clients.
The investigation revealed that Homles, who was employed as a home health care worker, took checks from one of her clients in Middletown and then fraudulently made them out to Evans-Turner using a forged signature.
When officers attempted to apprehend Evans-Turner on Nov. 12 he fled from police in Holmes’ vehicle.
He was eventually captured in Harrisburg near Cameron and Sycamore Streets.
Evan-Turner is facing numerous charges including felony charges of theft, three counts of forgery, flight to avoid apprehension and conspiracy.
Holmes is currently wanted by Middletown Police.
