Ephrata stabbing suspect arrested following police chase

A Ephrata man was arrested late Saturday following a police chase after he punched and stabbed a woman during a domestic dispute, police said. Felix Eduardo Alvarez, 38, is charged with aggravated assault and fleeing and eluding police.

It all started shortly before midnight when offices were dispatched to the 100 block of Heritage Road in Ephrata for a reported stabbing.

Police say Alvarez fled the area before investigators arrived.

A short time later, authorities spotted Alvarez driving through Akron and attempted to pull him over. Instead of stopping, he blew through a stop sign and led police on a chase through Lancaster City.

The pursuit ended near Seymour and Beaver Streets when police deployed stop sticks.  Alvarez was arrested and taken to Lancaster County Central Booking.

The victim was hospitalized with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
