Holiday Hope helps more than 100 local families

More than 100 local families will have presents for their children this Christmas, thanks to the Holiday Hope organization.
Volunteers gave out bags and bags of gifts on Sunday to people who can not afford the gifts on their own.
Holiday Hope adopts needy families in Lancaster County for Christmas and takes care of purchasing the gifts.
On Sunday, the families picked up all of their items at the organization’s warehouse.
“We collected toys and gifts and games for families, we had taken applications and everybody is coming to pick up their gifts today,” said Cheri Henry, who volunteers for Holiday Hope.
“This is what it’s all about and just to see the looks on the kids’ faces when they show up too and their parents,” said volunteer Melodie Dearolf.
A total of 137 families were helped this year.
