Penn State Head Coach Bill O’Brien has been approached by the Houston Texans and the Minnesota Vikings, according to Jason La Confora from CBS.  Prior to Penn State, O’Brien was the offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.

He’s 15-9 over two seasons at Penn State and he had his contract amended in June, which shortened his commitment to Penn State and added to the speculation that he would leave for the pros. It also broke down the amount of his buyout should he leave.

If he accepts an NFL position, he would owe this year’s base salary ($1,932,779) times the number of years left on his contract (3).
