A East Pennsboro man is facing multiple charges after he stole money and an employee’s debit card from a Cumberland County restaurant in early December, police said. Joseph Lee McLaughlin, 20, is charged with forgery, access device fraud, identity theft and theft by unlawful taking.
McLaughlin is accused of stealing money on multiple different occasions from the Issac’s Restaurant located along the 1200 block of Market Street in Lemoyne.
According to police reports, McLaughlin also stole an employee’s debit card from her purse. Investigators began reviewing surveillance footage after learning that the woman’s debit card was used at a nearby business.
Police arrested McLaughlin on Dec. 15 in Fairview Township, York County after surveillance video showed McLaughlin using the card.
He was taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 8.
