BACK TO REALITY
Frontal system continues to pull away allowing rain showers to taper this afternoon. Skies will be cloudy through the evening but clouds are expected to break up overnight. Temperatures, despite the winds, will be much colder in the upper 20s to low 30s.
COLDER WITH FLURRIES
We’ll start out with sunny skies but an upper level trough passes by in the early afternoon producing clouds and isolated light snow showers and flurries. Highs will be much chillier in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will be breezy out of the northwest 10 to 15mph.
CHRISTMAS DAY
No white Christmas but will be cold enough for snow. Lows will start out in the upper teens and low 20s. Plenty of sunshine will only help to get us to around 30 degrees. Few areas to the south may see low 30s. Winds will be light as high pressure dominates our weather. There will be a disturbance moving through the Great Lakes which may produce a few clouds late in the day but nothing more.
QUIET, DRY STRETCH
Thursday there will be more clouds around as a system skirts by to our north. Highs will be milder near 40. Once the front moves through it will knock temps back down for Friday. Plenty of sunshine Friday with high pressure in control but temperatures only warm to the mid and upper 30s. A nice start to the weekend with sunshine and highs in the upper 30s to near 40. Winds shift for Sunday bringing in milder air boosting temps to the mid 40s under partly to mostly sunny skies.
Monday with the next system coming in late Sunday night into Monday, colder air returns along with the threat for a few flurries or light snow showers. Highs stay in the 30s.
Looking ahead to the New Year doesn’t show much chance for big storm systems. We’ll keep you posted though on any changes.
