Fire damages York City home

Fire damages a rowhome in York City.  The fire broke out shortly after 2 o’clock this afternoon in the first block of North Lehman Street. The fire crews on the scene reported heavy smoke billowing from the 2nd and 3rd floors of the home.  The homeowner says his foster son noticed smoke and ran next door.

The interior of the home was gutted. It took less than half an hour to bring the fire under control.  The American Red Cross is assisting the residents. No word on a cause.
