Gavin Lucas Bates, is the first born child of Sarah and Warren Bates and the first newborn in the area for 2014. The infant arrived at 12:24 am at Harrisburg Hospital. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 19 and a half inches. The new year’s celebration was still going on in downtown Harrisburg so young Bates’ birth was greeted with cheers.
