UPDATE: 2 dead, 5 hurt in crash along I-81 in Franklin Co.

Police released the names of  two people who were killed in a three vehicle crash in Franklin County on Sunday afternoon.

According to police reports, the crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. along Interstate 81 near mile marker 21 in Greene Township when a northbound vehicle crossed the median and hit a vehicle traveling south. The impact of the initial crash sent the second vehicle careening into another southbound vehicle, police said.

The victims have been identified as John Reardon, of Doylestown, and Anna Pecht, of Huntingdon Valley.

Reardon was the driver of the second vehicle and Pecht was sitting in the back seat.

Five other people were injured in the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
