UGI is currently responding to a natural gas service outage affecting approximately 330 customers in Manor Township, just outside of Millersville in Lancaster County.

The area affected by this outage includes customers on Knollwood Road, Creekside Drive, West Charlotte Street, Swedesford Lane and Springdale Road.

UGI field crews are working as quickly as possible to resolve this situation and restore service.  UGI is coordinating with Lancaster County Emergency Management personnel, and with the American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley (Red Cross) in response to this service outage.

The Red Cross has set up a shelter and warming station at Central Manor Church, 387 Penn Street, Washington Borough, PA 17582. The center will be open by 4:00 p.m.

In order to complete repairs and restore service to the area, UGI field crews need to turn off natural gas service at each individual home at the outdoor meter or service valve. UGI expects to complete the shut-off process by approximately 4:00 p.m.

Once natural gas service is restored, UGI service crews will go door-to-door in the affected area to restore service to customers.  UGI will need to enter all homes affected to turn on natural gas service and re-light appliances. If UGI needs to enter a home to restore natural gas and the homeowner is not present, UGI personnel may be assisted by fire, police and other emergency personnel. Under no circumstances should a customer attempt to turn their natural gas service back on their own.

UGI hopes to have service restored to all customers this evening.

Customers can call UGI at 1-800-276-2722 for additional information restoration of natural gas service to their property.
