The babysitter, 27-year-old Kryzie King, has been arrested and faces charges of first degree assault and reckless endangerment.

According to police, Dobson’s body was covered with bruises, lacerations and cigarette burns when they found him after being called to the apartment just before 11 a.m.

Dobson had suffered “horrific injuries sustained over a period of days,” said NYPD Commissioner Bratton, who called it a “tragic, tragic death.”

King told investigators that the child had fallen off a counter in the bathroom, and fallen into an empty bathtub, sources told PIX11.

Dobson was taken out of his mother’s care in 2011, after an ACS investigation, according to sources.  His father, Okee Wade, took custody of the boy but was arrested in December.

When he was jailed, he left Dobson in King’s care, where the boy remained until he was discovered Wednesday.

Police say the are now investigating the ongoing relationship between the father and King.
