Fire crews got the call for a house fire along Owen Road in York County around 2:50 this morning. The house sits just off Springwood Road in York Township.
The family who lived at this home woke up in time to get out, but not before the basement was fully engulfed in flames. By the time fire crews arrived, the first floor of the home collapsed, so firefighters couldn’t enter the home to extinguish the flames.
Within minutes of arriving, fire crews called in additional firefighters.
By 5 a.m., firefighters had the fire out, but were still checking for hot spots in the attic.
No one was hurt. Owen Road is closed down as fire crews wrap up the scene.
