The Pennsylvania Department of Health is characterizing flu activity in the state as widespread, with more than 1,100 cases reported since late September.
The hardest-hit area has been in Western Pennsylvania, but dozens of influenza cases have already been reported in Central Pennsylvania.
Dr.Dan Ammons joined the FOX43 morning team to talk about the flu.
Dr. Ammons is an emergency room physician for Heart of Lancaster and Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
