The Lancaster County woman who made headlines after disappearing nearly 12 years ago and reemerging in Florida last year is out of jail.
54-year-old Brenda Heist, from Lititz, was serving a year-long prison sentence for a parole violation.
According to Lancaster Online, citing court records, Heist was released in November and is now living with her mother in Texas. She’s reportedly trying to seek help from television host Dr. Phil McGraw, and she’s also hoping to reconnect with her two children, who are now adults.
Heist disappeared in 2002 and at one point was declared dead. She had instead chosen to start a new life in Florida.
