A Lancaster man is being charged with shooting another man in the leg following an early Saturday morning fight.
Police say the shooting happened along the first block of Pearl Street around 3:30a.m. when a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg while visiting a friend at an apartment.
Police believe the man was shot as a result of a fight that happened inside the friend’s apartment.
The suspect led police on a short foot chase before they captured him. Police later identified the suspect as Joshua Diaz-Maldonado,24, a resident of Pearl Street.
Maldonado is being charged with several counts including aggravated assault.
The victim of the shooting underwent surgery immediately following the shooting. He is currently listed in critical condition.
