A Franklin County man is trying to help people of West Virginia get the clean drinking water they need.

Small business owner Mark Brown, of Greencastle, is collecting bottled water. He bought four skids, or 240 cases, at the Wal-Mart in Chambersburg, and he  is asking others to buy more, enough to fill a trailer. He will then deliver it to the hundreds of thousands of people affected by a chemical leak in and around Charleston.

“God laid it on my heart and it’s not what I’m doing, it’s his doing it and he’s using me to get people rolling I guess and I think about it, just like this morning brushing my teeth and taking a shower and making my breakfasts and having a cup of coffee, that’s got to be horrible.”  Mark Brown on collecting water.

Brown says many local businesses are coming forward to help him meet the goal, although he still needs to find a truck he can borrow to transport the water.

If you would like to help in any way you can call Mark Brown at 717-494-4012 or email him at admatsbydoc@gmail.com
