An attempted child abduction in southern York County. Southern Regional Police say it happened at about 4:45 pm this afternoon near the intersection of Valley and Junior Streets in Glen Rock Borough.

A nine year old girl got off her school bus and as the bus drove away, a man pulled up to her and spoke to her through the passenger side window telling her to “hop in”. The girl’s father who was behind the suspect immediately confronted the man. The suspect placed his car in reverse and drove away headed east on Valley Street towards the Susquehanna Trail.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 50’s or older, white/gray hair, no facial hair. He was driving a light blue or gray colored older model car, possibly a 1980 – 1985 4 door Cadillac, Buick Regal or similar vehicle.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call York County 911 or (717) 840-2971.
