The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report on the cause of a small plane crash in Adams County.
The crash of the Piper PA-30 happened around 5:30 a.m. on December 26th in a field in Butler Township, near Biglerville..
Investigators say Inflight Break up caused the crash. The plane was destroyed by that break up and by the impact of hitting the ground.
The pilot, 46-year old Michal Bronzburg and passenger, 17-year old Miranda Rose, both of Catawissa, PA were killed.
The plane took off from the Bloomsburg Municipal Airport and was bound for the Summerville Airport in Summerville, South Carolina.
The report indicates debris from the crash covered a path of 2,350 feet.
It’s not known when the NTSB’s official and final report will be released.
