Two people were killed in Heidelberg Township, York County on Sunday night, when their car hit a tractor on Route 116.

It happened around 5:30 p.m.

Police say the driver of the tractor was pulling onto the roadway from a farm when the crash happened.

Route 116 was shut down between Iron Ridge Road and Jacob’s Mill Road for several hours, as police reconstructed the crash.

The driver of the tractor was not hurt.

Police say this is the same stretch of roadway where a school van collided with a tractor-trailer back on January 2. But they do not consider the roadway to be dangerous.
