Firefighters battled a two alarm blaze at a farm house at 804 Mount Olivet Road in Peach Bottom Township, York County this afternoon. The fire started in a wood stove. A man who lives in the home tried to douse the conflagration with snow, to no avail. Flames quickly spread and the couple who live in the house had to leave. Firefighters had a hard time getting enough water to extinguish the fire due to the home’s remote location. The house is a total loss.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents.
