The country’s largest arts and crafts chain may be the latest retailer hit by a security breach.
Michaels announced Saturday that it recently learned of possible fraudulent activity on some of its customers credit and debit cards.
The company has not yet confirmed the breach and did not say how many credit cards were potentially compromised, but it says the Secret Service is investigating.
If the breach is confirmed, Michaels will be the third major retailer, after Target and Neiman Marcus, to have millions of customers’ credit information hacked in recent weeks.
