A couple is injured after being robbed and assaulted in West Manheim Township, York County.

Police are saying that a 24-year-old Hanover woman and her 29-year-old boyfriend were passengers in a vehicle traveling along the area of Frogtown Road & Furman Mill Road around 9 p.m. Thursday.

The couple did know one of the passengers in the vehicle, a female, but the two male occupants they did not know. One of the males punched the boyfriend in the head, pulled a knife on them, and demanded money, police said.

Police say the couple had struggled inside and outside of the vehicle, leaving the male victim with cuts on his hands and head.

He handed over cash and the suspects in the vehicle sped off.

The male victim then walked to house about 1/2 mile away and called 911.

Police say, the male was taken to Hanover Hospital for treatment and was later released. The female did have minor injury to her hand when she was struck by the vehicle as it fled, but she did not need to be medically treated.
