Gun owners in our area learned a little more about the law on Saturday.
A concealed carry seminar was held by State Representative Ron Marsico at Capital Bible Church in Derry Township, Dauphin County.
“The intention of hosting this seminar is for people to gain a better understanding of Pennsylvania’s concealed carry laws. Many people aren’t familiar with these laws and this seminar will give them the facts,” Rep. Marsico said.
Guest speakers were on hand to educate the crowd. A lawyer talked about concealed carry laws and the Castle Doctrine. A Pennsylvania State Trooper discussed how to safely interact with police if you are legally carrying a gun. He discussed scenarios such as getting pulled over by a police officer while carrying your firearm.
A question and answer session was also held.
The gun safety event was free and open to the public.
“Knowing the importance of gun safety is crucial in keeping our public safe. I am glad I have a way of getting this information out there and, again, encourage participation,” said Rep. Marsico.
