Driver killed when he gets out of disabled truck

A truck driver who got out of his cab when his tractor trailer became disabled on Route 30 was struck by a passing vehicle and later died as a result of his injuries. It happened around 7:17am on the 6100 block of Chambersburg Road in Franklin Township.

The tractor trailer driver was transported to Chambersburg Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The driver of the striking vehicle is cooperating with police.  The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

Incident is still under investigation.
