Northbound lanes reopen after fatal car fire on I-81 in West Hanover Twp.

Northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in are back open after being shut down as state police investigated a deadly vehicle fire in Dauphin County. It happened around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday near mile marker 74.5.

A 33-year-old Hummelstown man died in the fire, a state police spokesman said.

Investigators are still trying to piece together the chain of events that led to the vehicle fire.

The northbound lanes of I-81 were closed between exit 72A  in Lower Paxton Township and exit 77  in West Hanover Township.
