Shooting in Lancaster City

Lancaster City police responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of Queen and James Street around 2:17 p.m Sunday.

According to police, a 24-year-old Lancaster man was shot in the abdomen after a fight broke out between him and another man. The victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital by a private vehicle. He went into emergency surgery and is currently listed in serious but stable condition.

Dispatchers told police the suspect fled the scene after the shooting occurred.

Police are continuing to investigate and are working to identify the suspect.
