Police and rescue crews in Dauphin County respond at at 2:45 pm this afternoon to a report of a man walking on the ice on the Susquehanna River near Fort Hunter Park.  The man, later identified as Michael Fry, 50, of Carlisle, was observed walking on the ice toward the Rockville Bridge.

Fry, who walked nearly across the river to the west shore, was eventually rescued by fire personnel using an inflatable boat and ropes. Police determined that Fry was intoxicated. He was issued a citation by Susquehanna Township Police and released to a relative.
