Harrisburg City Police make a quick arrest in an armed robbery over the weekend. Officers responded to a reported robbery at about 7:30 pm Sunday evening in the 100 block of Harris Street. A woman told police that her purse had just been stolen at gunpoint.
Officers quickly searched the area and located Leon Allen, 31, only a few blocks away. The victim positively identified Allen as the robber. Police also recovered the victim’s purse.
Charges against Allen include Robbery and Possession of an Instrument of Crime. Police say their investigation continues and request anyone who may have witnessed the robbery to contact Officer Eric Carter or Officer Paula Trovy at (717) 255-3158.
