Spring Garden Police say the man who reported he was shot during a robbery in January actually staged the whole incident to avoid paying his debts. Dennis Schaller, 51, of York, was found by police suffering a gunshot wound to the lower back on the evening of January 13th. He told police at the time he was the victim of an attempted robbery and assault. Police now say Schaller staged to whole thing because he hoped to put off paying a monetary debt he owed.
Schaller is charged with Criminal Conspiracy and False Reports to Law Enforcement.
