Due to the wintery weather conditions, State Police have seen an increase in the amount of crashes and injuries due to dislodged or falling snow from vehicles, especially tractor trailers.

The Pennsylvania State Police encourages all drivers to remove any and all snow and ice from their vehicles before driving.  State law says whenever snow or ice is dislodged or falls from a moving vehicle and strikes another vehicle or pedestrian causing death or serious bodily injury the operator of the vehicle from which the snow or ice is dislodged or falls shall be subjected to a fine for each offense from $200 to $1000.
