Two Lancaster County men are arrested on drug charges. Last Friday, detectives from the Lancaster County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on February 7 at the home Weston Chad Smith on Pin Oak Lane, in Mountville. They found approximately two grams of heroin in rock form, and a small amount of marijuana as well as small wax bags commonly used to package heroin and two digital scales. They also seized about $1500 from a safe in the bedroom.
Smith was charged Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
On January 31, drug task force detectives along with Columbia Borough Police executed a search warrant at the apartment of Brandon Morant, 24, of Columbia. Morant attempted to flee but was caught after a brief foot chase. Inside the apartment police seized 28 grams of bulk heroin, 485 individual bags of heroin, a small amount of marijuana, two digital gram scales, and packaging material common to heroin and about $5,000 in cash.
Morant is charged with two counts of Delivery of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Following arraignment Morant was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $350,000 cash bail.
