Police are charging 11 men in connection with a drug ring in Lancaster County that they said distributed at least a half million dollars worth of heroin in the last year. Police said the ring leader is Conde Santiago who’s responsible for selling heroin with brand names like Lady Bug and Super Power to customers outside his house at 50 Stevens Avenue in the City of Lancaster.

“Lancaster City police did receive literally hundreds of complaints from citizens in that area about the open air drug dealing that was occurring” said Senior Deputy Attorney General Heather Adams.

Adams said they monitored the drug ring since May of last year, but she said it wasn’t easy getting to Santiago.  “The reason the case did take some time to develop is because we needed to get the case all the way up to his level. He wasn’t actively participating in a day to day basis in buys that occurred at the street level” said Adams.

Police said Narmo Sanchez-Zayas was one of the men involved in the street level dealings. Sanchez’s cousin said the arrest would be difficult for his family to take. She did not want to be identified, but said “I don’t know how to talk with his mom because his mom got a problem with her heart so it’s going to be really hard to tell my aunt what is going on here.”
