A 15 year old juvenile faces charges as an adult in last October’s shooting at the Harrisburg Community Center. Police had responded to a report of a person shot just after midnight in the area of North 16th and Walnut Streets.  Shortly thereafter multiple persons began arriving at local hospitals with gunshot wounds. None of the wounds were life threatening.

Detectives at scene learned that a fight had broken out at a youth party inside the center at Walnut and Hoerner Streets. As people were leaving the building someone on the outside began shooting into the crowd.

Last Friday, city police arrested Lamont Porter for the shooting. Charges against Porter include Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering, Person not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.

Two other juveniles Darrell Henderson, 15, and Daniel Miley, 17, are also charged as adults in the shooting.
