OVERVIEW: High pressure builds in clearing our skies tonight. As temps fall, we could see some spotty fog develop, lows will be cold in the low to mid 20s.  The clouds return as the next frontal system approaches.  Warm front in the late afternoon and evening may trigger a shower. Best chance for rain returns Friday when a cold front swings through late morning. Temperatures will be mild in the 50s.   Temperatures still look mild for the start of the weekend.  High pressure returns for Saturday before yet another weak boundary heads our way overnight into Sunday.  This will usher in colder air for early next week. An upper level trof builds back into the area by Tuesday and Wednesday and our temperatures will plummet below average once again. Snow showers possible for Tuesday with a weak clipper system.

TONIGHT:  Clearing skies and snow pack will lead to fast falling temperatures. Lows will be in the low to middle 20s.  Spotty fog is possible towards morning as well.  After some melting today, there could be plenty of icy spots due to refreeze.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY: Sunshine becomes obscured by clouds returning and thickening through the day. A late day or early evening stray shower is possible as a warm front pushes northward.  Highs should manage to get into the low 40s.  They may fall in the evening but once past midnight, will climb to the 50s early Friday morning ahead of a cold front.  Rain develops towards the early morning commute and continues through the noon hour before exiting.  Right now the severe weather threat remains to our south across Virginia and Southern Maryland; however, the winds could get quite strong and gusty with the passage of the front.  Rumble of thunder is not out of the question.Hour by Hour

WEEKEND OUTLOOK:   We start the weekend dry, mostly sunny and around 51 degrees but the next system moves in Saturday night into Sunday ushering in colder air and it is possible we may dodge a few light rain or snow showers. System is not showing a lot of moisture so anything we get will be light, high temperatures still close to average in the low 40s but the colder air spills in heading into the work week.Past Four Days

COLD SHOT RETURNS NEXT WEEK:  Upper level trof digs and deepens for next week bringing a return of frigid air.  Also looks like a weak clipper may bring a few snow showers for Tuesday.  Lows return to the teens and 20s, while highs only get to the 20s and 30s.

Enjoy the rest of the week and the milder temperatures to come!
