FRIGID DAY: The February chill continues to spill over into March. The record this morning sits at 8° (1943) and we’re dangerously close to it today. The coldest temperature recorded in March for Harrisburg is 5°. We’re talking some really big chill today. Skies will go from mainly clear to partly cloudy by afternoon. The high today hits 25°. Tonight, we’re dry and down to 10°, which happens to be the record set back in 1978.
REST OF THE WEEK: Wednesday we’ll be in the low 30s for highs under partly cloudy skies, still 10°+ below average. Thursday, we hit the middle 30s after a start in the teens. A very weak and moisture starved disturbance rides by. A few drops or flakes may fall, but we’re mostly cloudy and mainly dry. Friday, it’s partly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s to near 40°. A developing low slides off the coast into the Atlantic. This one looks to just miss us.
WEEKEND: We moderate for the weekend with highs back to the low and middle 40s. Both days are mostly cloudy; with a weak wave bring a few drops or flakes for Sunday. We don’t expect much out of this system either. Enjoy the weekend. By Monday we should be closer to average!
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: It begins this weekend! Sunsets will be after 7PM starting Sunday. Don’t forget to change the clocks AHEAD one hour Saturday night before bed. It’s a good time to change the smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm batteries too!
