Longtime Lancaster Catholic High School coach, Lamar Kauffman to retire

The end of a coaching era at Lancaster Catholic High School.  Lamar Kauffman said today that he is retiring after 32 seasons as the head coach for the Lancaster Catholic Girls Basketball Team.  Coach Kauffman steps aside leading the Lady Crusaders to 764 wins. Those wins included 18 Lancaster-Lebanon Section Championships, 11 Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships, 12 District III Titles and two State Championships in 1989 and 1996. In addition to coaching the Lady Crusaders, Kauffman taught for 36 years. For 12 years he coached the boys basketball team at Manheim Central.

Formal recognition for Coach Kauffman will announced at a later date.  A search committee will soon be formed to search for his replacement.
