A roof collapse at a Mifflin County volunteer fire station. It happened at about 4:35 pm Monday at the Reedsville Fire Company along the 100 block of Main Street in Reedsville.

Chief Daniel Aumiller says a crew was pulling out of the station on a fire call when a door on the pumper engine opened, and slammed into a support beam. Chief Aumiller says the roof fell upon two pieces of equipment parked inside. Fortunately no one was injured.

Damage to the building is estimated at between $700,000 and $1 million. The pumper engine is the only piece of equipment still in service for the 25 member fire company. There is no timetable as to when the fire company will be back in full service.
