Police searched Northern Lebanon School District before the start of classes this morning after a student posted a threat on social media Thursday morning.

Superintendent of the Northern Lebanon School District, Dr. Don Bell sent a letter out to parents and said that he was made aware around 7 a.m. that a social media post concerning a bomb threat and shooting  was to occur Thursday in the middle school.

Immediate contact was made to the State Police and three troopers arrived and began their investigation with the student and parent/guardian present.

At the same time, a security search of the building and school grounds was completed and nothing suspicious was found.

Bell also stated in the letter, that students who engage in such behavior, or act with the intent to cause injury to others, will be disciplined promptly and he will recommend expulsion to the School Board of Directors.
