Celebrity auction raises money for Martin Library

Children in York County will have some new books to read, thanks to money raised at a special auction on Sunday.
Martin Library held its 17th Annual Celebrity Auction, where all sorts of memorabilia was put on the auction block.
Auctioneer Gary Glatfelter donated his time to sell things like autographed footballs and books, also signed posters and apparel was up for grabs.
Money raised will add to the children’s library inventory.
“We’re very big on having children read because children who read succeed, and we really believe that,” says Fran Keller, Director of Marketing.
More than 300 items were sold at the sale; that will translate into hundreds of books for youngsters to read and borrow.
Martin Library is located at 159 E. Market Street in York.
