People considering joining the U.S. Army will need to watch where they get their ink.

A new grooming policy prohibits tattoos on the head, face, neck, hands, fingers and wrists. Soldiers are also banned from getting sleeve tattoos that cover the entire arm.

Soldiers who are already enlisted with these tattoos will be able to keep them, but they are now required to document each one and will not be able to get new ones. Plus, members with more than four visible tattoos below the elbow or knee will not be granted requests to move into commissioned ranks.

The new rules were approved on March 6th by Army Secretary John McHugh, are due to take effect in a few days.
