A Cumberland County man faces charges in the theft and sale of a firearm. A Lower Allen Police officer was flagged down on Wednesday by a motorist who wanted to report a stolen gun. The weapon was stolen in the 700 block of Lisburn Road. The motorist had information that the gun had been sold.
With the assistance of Fairview Township Police, investigators were able to identify the buyer of the firearm. The weapon was recovered from a home in Fairview Township.
Based the results of the investigation Lower Allen Township Police arrested Eric Hidalgo, 18, yesterday at his home on the 700 block of Lisburn Road. Charges against Hidalgo include Theft by Unlawful Taking, Carrying a Firearm without a License and Sale or Transfer of a Firearm. Following arraignment Hidalgo was sent to Cumberland County Prison pending a preliminary hearing.
