Harrisburg water main break affecting residents on same block where massive sinkhole opened up

People living along the 1400 block of South 14th Street in Harrisburg just can’t catch a break.

According to a release issued from Capital Region Water, a water main break was reported around 7 a.m. Monday. This is the same street where where a massive sinkhole opened up earlier this month.

Capital Region water employees are going door to door delivering bottled water and checking on the affected residents, the release stated.

“Our focus is on the residents who have been through a lot”, said Executive Director Shannon Williams, “We will be restoring service as quickly as possible and will be connecting customers to a new water main over the next week to fix the issue correctly.”

Crews have been monitoring the site since the last water main broke on March 20th.

Details on how many residents are being affected were not immediately available.
