Boy crossing street hit by fire police vehicle

pedestriancrashA boy is recovering tonight after he got hit by a fire police vehicle.

It happened around 4:30PM in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.

Police say the boy had just gotten off a school bus near the intersection of Griffin Street and Jerome Boulevard. Police say the boy tried to cross Jerome Boulevard diagonally when he got hit.

It’s unclear if the driver was trying to respond to an emergency.

The boy was taken to the hospital with a bruise on his right shoulder.

Police have yet to identify the driver involved or whether charges will be filed.
