Hundreds of people are concerned the Governor’s Plan would mean severe benefit cuts for current Medicaid Enrollees.  This includes seniors, people with disabilities and pregnant women.  Last Fall, Governor Corbett introduced his “Healthy Pennsylvania” plan.  A key part deals with Medicaid.  Instead of expanding the program under the Affordable Care Act, the Governor wants to use that money to let roughly half a million people buy private insurance.  The Federal Government has to approve the plan.
Advocates of Medicaid expansion will rally at the Capitol Building at 12:30 a.m. Monday.  Health advocates, physicians and consumers who are troubled by the Governor’s proposal are expected to raise concerns.  Following the rally, a delegation will visit the Governor’s office to share their concerns.
